Description of Asahina Uji Matcha, 100g x 2 packs

The reason why matcha tea seems so inviting and soothing to many is mostly that from the earliest time it was taken as a drink, it was intended to cause people to be calm and well. Historical accounts put the origin of matcha in 9th century China, where it was used as a herbal curative for many ailments. By the 12th century, Zen Buddhist monks from Japan realized just how much benefit it could give tea drinkers everywhere and started promoting its cultivation. The leaves used to make matcha come from the tencha plant, and it is actually grown out of the sun so as to create darker hued leaves. With this process, the production of chlorophyll and amino acids is stimulated, and this is then transmitted to whatever consumable product the tencha leaves are made into. Traditionally harvested by hand, so as to ensure that only the youngest and smallest of leaves are selected, the creation of matcha is as much about innovation as it is about tradition. Matcha is a trich a source of vitamin A, C, E, K, B-complex, and trace minerals. Lab tests have proven that matcha has components with super antioxidant activity including polyphenols, catechins, and chlorophyll. Noteworthy among the amino acids present in the match are L-theanine and theophylline, as these can promote relaxation, reduce stress, and improve sleep, while boosting concentration and alertness, and treat lung diseases such as asthma and COPD (bronchitis, emphysema). It must be used regularly to prevent wheezing and shortness of breath, respectively. The various antioxidants present in matcha, including polyphenols, EGCg, L-theanine collectively contribute in boosting the immune system of the body while providing protection against various antigens present in the environment. These include the multitude of bacteria, virus strains, and allergens that bombard us on a daily basis.
